A proud son of Barahona, Dominican Republic, and Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Julio Lugo embodied the spirit of determination and excellence. After emigrating to New York at age 13, he honed his skills on the fields of Fort Hamilton before embarking on a distinguished 12-season career in Major League Baseball.​
