Jeff Samaha

Jeff Samaha, born April 25, 1943 to Bee and Emil Samaha and brother of Stephanie Samaha, is a life-long resident of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. A graduate of P.S. 170, McKinley Jr. High School and Fort Hamilton High School, he attended St. John's University, Pace College and graduated from RCA Institute for Television Production.

While a student at Fort Hamilton, he played first trumpet in the Concert Band, the Senior Dance Band and the fifteen piece Dance Band. On the choral side, Jeff sang tenor in the Mixed Chorus and the All City Chorus of New York.

In 1960, Jeff graduated from FORT HAMILTON as president of his senior class. He then became a page at the NBC Studios in New York where he works today as a staff stage manager with credits in news, sports and entertainment. After having spent many years on the "TODAY PROGRAM" and "ANOTHER WORLD SOAP OPERA", he is currently production stage manager for "LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN". As a side job, he was an engineer/announcer for the Balkan Echo Studios of WHBI-FM radio, where he co-hosted several music radio programs.

In 1968, Mr. Samaha formed The Ridge Chorale, (Jeff Samaha Singers), a thirty-five voice chorus and twenty-four piece orchestra which is rapidly becoming a musical variety company. The group has served the Bay Ridge community by performing quality production at a low or sometimes no cost.

In 1979, the group held a concert to raise money for bulletproof vets for the officers of the 68th precinct in memory of one of their slain officers. Other performances include Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, several television appearances on WNBC-TV and many years of free concerts in the parks. Jeff has served also as Choir director for St. Nicholas Cathedral of New York and all North America.

Jeff is married to the former Mary Ann Radioli of Marine Park, Brooklyn. She is a soloist with the Singers and Director of Nurse Recruitment for Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. Jeff and Mary Ann have four children: Monique, Kristina and twins Jacqueline and Andrew.

For all his career achievements and for the entertainment pleasure he has brought to Bay Ridge for many years, the Alumni Association proudly inducts Jeff Samaha into the Alumni Hall of Fame as a charter member
