Personal History
Born in Grand'Mere, Quebec, of Scottish-Canadian parents, Allyn Ann, her father having deceased three months before her birth, moved with her mother to Brooklyn's Bay Ridge to live there with her maternal grandparents.
Early ballet classes through grade school and during the Fort Hamilton High years, led to early engagements on Broadway, eventually touring Europe with Ballet Theater playing the Cowgirl in Agnes de Mille's "Rodeo". On the way to this engagement, Allyn Ann had been Miss Turnstiles in "On The Town", Amy in "Where's Charley?", and Miss Liberty in "Miss Liberty", all of which appeared on Broadway.
Her first film was, "Where's Charley", shot in London. Next came Hollywood where Allyn Ann had roles in "Calamity Jane", "The Desert Song", "The Murders of the Rue Morgue", "Battlecry" and others.
A great many television shows have featured Allyn Ann as a series regular. Among her T.V. credits include, "The Tony Randall Show", "The Thornbirds", "The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd". She's also guest-starred on "Saint Elsewhere", "Barney Miller", "The Love Boat", "Dynasty", "WKRP in Cincinnati", "Punky Brewster", "The Shadow of a Gunman", and a host of other T.V. shows.

Currently Allyn Ann lives in Santa Barbara, California, with her husband, George Gaynes.
