The Barbara Venito Memorial Scholarship

Purpose

This scholarship application is designed to honor the legacy of Barbara Venito by supporting a student who embodies the spirit of community, athletic dedication, and the "Tiger Pride" she championed during her time at Fort Hamilton High School.​ Barbara Venito was more than just a Hall of Famer; she was a pillar of the Fort Hamilton community.  This scholarship seeks to reward a graduating senior who demonstrates that same passion and leadership.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following requirements:

 * Graduating Senior: Must be a current senior at Fort Hamilton High School in good standing.

​

 * Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (85%).

 

 * Community Service: Demonstrated involvement in school spirit activities or community volunteerism.

 

Application Requirements

Please submit a video up to 4 minutes that speaks to:

• Who you are, your goals, and what drives you

• Barbara Venito believed that being a 'Tiger' meant showing up for your community. Describe a time you faced a challenge in your school life and how you used leadership or perseverance to overcome it. How do you plan to carry these values into your future?

• A brief list of any leadership roles (Captain, Manager, etc.)

• Community service​

• Use this as an opportunity to show your personality, values, and commitment

   

 * Letter of Recommendation: One letter from a coach, teacher, or community leader highlighting your character and commitment.

The winner will be announced before June 6, 2026.
